German School Chicago (GSC) is an independent, non-profit, Pre-K-12 school that provides a stimulating and comprehensive education to students of all backgrounds and nationalities. It is a dual-language immersion day school with the curriculum mainly taught in German.
Students learn in a supportive, intimate, and individualized learning environment that nurtures curiosity and creativity and fosters global awareness, while being immersed in other cultures and languages.
German School Chicago prepares students to become well-rounded,
creative, responsible, and tolerant global citizens.
The Preschool offers a curriculum based on Montessori materials and the whole-child approach. It encourages self-motivation and independence, develops self-confidence and promotes self-discovery. Students engage in activities in various content areas in small groups, individually and with the whole class.
The discipline-based curriculum with integrative projects continues in Primary School and leads to the International Baccalaureate Program (IB) in Middle School and Upper School.
