Volunteering at GISC

We Welcome Your Time and Talent!
As a non-profit independent school with a limited administrative team, we rely on volunteers to help build and sustain the vibrant community of support that makes our school such a special place. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available, channeled through two key school constituencies: the GISC Parent Group and the GISC Advancement Office.

  • German International School Parent Group (GPG)

The GISC Parent Group’s goal is to support our students, our teachers and staff, and our school by fostering community and communication. The GPG provides opportunities to get involved, meet other GISC families, and volunteer while having some fun. All GISC parents are part of the GPG, and the group is led by an elected team of parent volunteers. Throughout the year, the GPG organizes a variety of school events and opportunities, and there are many ways to help, regardless of your work schedule or language abilities. For more information on getting involved with the GPG please contact the GPG Leadership Team at gpg@germanschoolchicago.com
  • GISC Advancement Office

The GISC Advancement office, which encompasses our Development, Marketing, and Enrollment departments at the school, is always looking for volunteers to assist with a variety of activities and events related to the promotion and support of our school. Some of our main opportunities include volunteering on the annual Gala committee, assisting our Marketing team with social media and advertising initiatives, or participating as volunteers at the Open House events we host for prospective parents throughout the year. If you enjoy meeting people, planning parties, and/or have a background in fundraising, marketing, advertising, or event planning, we would be delighted to have you volunteering with us. For more information, please contact the Advancement office at events@germanschoolchicago.com.
