German International School Chicago cordially invites you to the 9th Annual Laternenfest and St. Martin’s Parade at the DANK Haus German Cultural Center on Saturday, November 12 at 3:00pm.

In Europe, Laternenfest is a fall festival where children walk through their villages with lighted lanterns on the eve of St. Martin’s feast day (Martinstag). Our Chicago celebration includes lantern-making, other kid-friendly activities and lantern parade. New this year, we will return to the DANK Haus after the parade to enjoy German dinner and drinks.

Tickets for Adults & Kids ages 2+: $13 entry or $20 entry includes a discounted brat dinner ticket. Advance dinner tickets enjoy a $2 discount over dinner tickets purchased at the event. Children under age 2 are free. Both admissions include a lantern kit that children can use to personalize their own lantern, plus free crafts, storytelling, and a sing-along.

Face painting and other entertainment as well as food and drinks will be available for purchase (concession tickets are available for pre-purchase during online registration as well as at the event).

Admission tickets must be purchased in advance; there will be no at-the-door sales.
