Kamishibai Storytelling

The teachers of the Schmetterling preschool group introduced their students to Kamishibai. Kamishibai (Japanese for “paper play”) is a form of storytelling that combines the use of hand-drawn visuals with the engaging narration of a live presenter.

The goal of introducing Kamishibai during the current Fairy Tale unit is to encourage students to paint their own pictures to accompany their own fictional stories which they narrate and present to their fellow students.
