9th Annual Laternenfest and St. Martin’s Parade

German International School Chicago cordially invites you to the 9th Annual Laternenfest and St. Martin’s Parade at the DANK Haus German Cultural Center on Saturday, November 12 at 3:00pm.

In Europe, Laternenfest is a fall festival where children walk through their villages with lighted lanterns on the eve of St. Martin’s feast day (Martinstag). Our Chicago celebration includes lantern-making, other kid-friendly activities and lantern parade. New this year, we will return to the DANK Haus after the parade to enjoy German dinner and drinks.

Tickets for Adults & Kids ages 2+: $13 entry or $20 entry includes a discounted brat dinner ticket. Advance dinner tickets enjoy a $2 discount over dinner tickets purchased at the event. Children under age 2 are free.Both admissions include a lantern kit that children can use to personalize their own lantern, plus free crafts, storytelling, and a sing-along.

Face painting and other entertainment as well as food and drinks will be available for purchase (concession tickets are available for pre-purchase during online registration as well as at the event).

Admission tickets must be purchased in advance; there will be no at-the-door sales.
