Writing Workshop

Students from Grades 3-7 attended a writing workshop at Open Books this week. On our journey to and from the bookshop, students navigated our route on the train and walking downtown. For our workshop we started by reading fables and talked about what characters learn in the stories, then we came up with our own examples about mistakes we have made. Before writing about their own experiences in story form, students identified the structure of a story and planned out how to include all of the elements in their writing. At the end, everyone was excited to explore the bookshop and choose their own book to take home.
